Colorado’s first registered Black Certified Professional Midwife is set to open Colorado’s first Black owned freestanding birth center in Colorado Springs in 2024. We need your support!
1. Birth outcomes in Colorado do not discriminate against national trends of increased maternal and infant mortality. Black women are three times more likely to die during the perinatal period. 2. Increasing culturally congruent community perinatal care regardless of a person’s ability to pay increases the likelihood of safe and healthy birth outcomes.
3. Representation matters! By support AMC you are directly contributing to: A. Construction and remodeling of our newly purchased facility B. Maintain our continued model of care at low cost or free services C. Train, hire, and retain community midwives, doulas, lactation counselors, and social workers of color in the Colorado Springs area.
