Prenatal Open Access Clinic provides pregnant families in Colorado Springs the ability to receive prenatal and postpartum care by registered midwives regardless of their insurance or their ability to pay.
Our model of care allows our clients to pay a small flat fee for service of $65 per prenatal visit. All labs and ultrasounds are billed by the facility, therefore, your insurance can be billed for these covered services (including Medicaid).
Why is Prenatal Open Access necessary in our community? 1. To meet the demands of our under served community! 2. Access to equitable and culturally competent prenatal care, with the ability to birth at your local hospital.
We serve all populations, including Medicaid, under-insured, uninsured, and families who are undocumented. Access to equitable prenatal care throughout a person's pregnancy reduces stress, provides early identification of increased risks, prenatal/postpartum/newborn education, child birth preparation, lactation support, and community resources (if applicable).
What if I can't pay at the time of service? 1. You will not be turned away. You will not be sent to collections. You will not be guilted or shamed. We will still provide you the same Midwifery standards of care until you are admitted to the hospital when labor starts.
Do I have to pay for my labs and/or ultrasound? 1. If you have insurance (including Medicaid) your labs and ultrasound will be billed to your insurance by the processing lab or the ultrasound facility.
2. If you have no insurance we have a select lab that has reduced fees! This fee schedule is only applicable if the lab is sent to them by an AMC provider.
3. Colorado Springs Imaging offers our clients a discounted rated.
Do I have to pay for any of the additional resources mentioned above? 1. No
What if I have a complication during my pregnancy does my cost go up? 1. No. In fact, if you start to develop risks factors your condition will be assessed and your care may need to be transferred to an OBGYN for the safety of you and your baby.
